The Irish Mirror has published a story linking WWE Superstar Sheamus with the Darth Vader role in the new Star Wars film. The wrestler is currently in Ireland, not far from where the movie is shooting and this led to several rumours that he's there to portray perhaps the most iconic villain in the history of cinema. A friend of the wrestler told the Irish Mirror that "It would be a big coincidence for him to be here at the same time as the crew." The wrestler is 6 foot 4 inches, almost identical to the 6'5 of former Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse. Another interesting point is that Sheamus, whose real name Stephen Farelly, has previously portrayed Vader in Star Wars promotional tours. The 36 year old former WWE Champion responded to the rumour on Twitter: "I cant confirm that i wont not be reprising role of Darth Vader in #StarWars ... I hope that's clear @IrishMirror ;)" The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the news story. It was interesting that the Irishman teased "won't not", basically saying in a round-about way that he might be playing Vader. However, given the level of secrecy around the new Star Wars movie, would he really have tweeted a photo linking him with shooting for the new film? Most probably not. The Star Wars cast and shooting location are shrouded in secrecy, if the Irish Mirror story was true then Sheamus wouldn't want to be casting light on it. It looks like this is just a rumour which the WWE superstar is having some fun with. He's probably just in the local area visiting family or friends.
