One question surrounding this year's edition of WWE Survivor Series is whether or not traditional elimination matches will be included in the PPV? As we've heard, at one time (and it may still be when the time comes) the idea was to team The Rock and John Cena against a team led by The Miz and R-Truth but this week it was promoted to be a normal tag match. Wrestleheat reports today that there has been talk surrounding other potential Survivor Series elimination bouts; One would involve Randy Orton, Sheamus, a returning Kane, Daniel Bryan and Sin City Azul taking on Christian, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Brodus Clay and Sin Cara Negro. Previously discussed as a bout was Cody Rhodes, Christian, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and David Otunga vs. Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Mason Ryan and Zack Ryder. Despite the latter sounding more likely, plans for that bout seem to have dropped, perhaps in favour for the former. Perhaps I'm a traditionalist but I've always loved the Survivor Series concept and historically for me the better PPV's are the ones that include those gimmicked matches, and for me it always makes more sense as it's a PPV where a rivarly between two wrestlers can be played out more smartly (i.e. - we don't want to see Christian vs. Sheamus or Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara again but in an elimination environment it works out ok). As well as The Rock & Cena vs. Miz & R-Truth, highly likely Survivor Series matches include; WWE Title - Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk WWE World Title Rematch - The Big Show vs. Mark Henry Triple H vs. Kevin Nash - (probably with a No Holds Barred gimmick to help Nash get through this)
