Joe Coffey has been suspended by WWE following his implication in the ongoing #SpeakingOut movement.

Allegations had been levied against the former NXT UK Title contender and several of his peers on WWE's British brand over the past couple of weeks, with the promotion confirmed the suspension to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer. Coffey hadn't wrestled since NXT UK's 7 March tapings as the brand has effectively shut down for lockdown.

As well as suspending Coffey, WWE has released NXT UK referees Joel Allen and Chris Roberts, both of whom face #SpeakingOut allegations. Allen was recently shown making disparaging comments towards women in a particularly gross video alongside the rightfully blacklisted David Starr.

Yesterday saw Triple H host a mandatory conference call with the men and women of NXT UK. This was speculated to coincide with an announcement on the brand's future, though this hasn't been forthcoming, with 'The Game' instead reiterating the company's policy on sexual abuse allegations, noting there'd be zero tolerance on charges with irrefutable evidence.

Coffey, 32, has been with WWE since May 2018. He has challenged for the United Kingdom Championship at two separate TakeOver events.
