WWE To Drop Bobby Lashley/Lana Split Storyline?
So much for splitting up. Let's just flip some tyres instead...
It looks like WWE has decided to abandon its plans to split Lana and Bobby Lashley as an onscreen couple.
Tension started brewing between the duo at WrestleMania 36, where 'The All Mighty' lost a match to Aleister Black after blindly following his kayfabe wife's instructions, having seemingly had victory in the palm of his hand. Further friction was built on their next Raw appearance, though everything was seemingly back to normal this week as Lashley flipped tyres in the Performance Center to demonstrate his strength.
Wrestling Inc.'s Marc Middleton notes that current speculation points towards WWE binning the storyline outright.
Lana and Lashley were married onscreen as part of the love triangle storyline with Rusev in December 2019, though a returning Liv Morgan threw a spanner in the works with the revelation a past romance with 'The Ravishing Russian.' The storyline petered out soon after and the Lana/Morgan aspect was never truly resolved.
Lana's real life husband, Rusev, was let go as part of last week's Black Wednesday releases, though she is currently tied to WWE for five more years after inking a new deal with the promotion in November 2019.
