WWE To Offer HUGE Money To Re-Sign Cody Rhodes

'The American Nightmare' has options, and is allegedly very seriously weighing them up...

There is, remarkably, "a chance or a good chance" that Cody Rhodes could return to WWE with immediate effect, should the company make an offer big enough to lure him from his free agency.

This is all according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who noted that though it's unlikely anything concrete will emerge until the decision is made, the impossible is seemingly not quite that anymore.

Speaking on conversations that have been going on since Cody's contract came to an end in December, Meltzer said "there was minimal possibility that he wasn't going to sign [with WWE] - but I would not say that now". This was later followed up with notes on internal WWE discussion, with the conversation backstage at Monday's Raw all abuzz with "potential of something happening there". They want somebody "big from AEW" and are supposedly willing to pay for one of the biggest of all.

Though still unlikely, the apparent recent change in temperature is newsworthy. As is the surprising prospect of Rhodes walking away from an EVP/talent role within AEW to return to the company he had to leave to aid the creation of all that followed.

Meltzer noted that the Cody's existing non-wrestling projects with WarnerMedia (parent company of TBS and TNT) are further reasons why re-signing with AEW seems logical, but when has such a thing been a priority in the Codyverse?
