Sometimes, it's the simplest setup that works the best.

Monday night, Seth Rollins opened Raw and started to talk about how he hadn't held a singles title in quite some time. He was quickly interrupted by Matt Riddle and never finished his thought.

Later on, Rollins was walking backstage when he was asked about that comment and tried to deflect, talking about how he's the face of Raw. Cue Bobby Lashley, who very quickly made the point that Seth doesn't have any gold, so therefore he can't possibly be the face of the red brand.

Rollins acknowledged that Lashley's United States Championship wasn't the title he had in mind, but he'd be willing to challenge for it nonetheless. And that was really all that needed to be said.

Rollins and Lashley have faced each other twice in the past three years, once in December 2021 (Lashley won) and then in January (Lashley won by DQ). With an eight-month gap, this match-up feels fresh enough, and it should be a really great match for a title that's fast becoming a sought-after prize and generating good matches along the way.
