WWE's Backstage Reaction To Last Night's Raw Revealed
WWE Raw hit Hartford, CT last night... how did this go down with the wrestlers?
Last night's WWE Raw took place in Hartford, Connecticut - a city the wrestlers had a lot of fun working in.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that WWE talents enjoyed working in front of the Hartford audience on Monday. They noted the difference between the city and others like Montreal or New York City, which have the reputation of being hot wrestling towns, where loud songs and chants are the norm.
The volume of signs at the show was cited by one talent amongst the reasons for Raw having a different feel in Hartford. Similarly, the older, smaller venue's acoustics helped it sound bigger than it actually was.
One WWE staff member commented, too, that unlike modern venues, Hartford's XL Center doesn't have overhanging screens in every direction, forcing the audience to focus on the ring over everything else. This apparently made "the building more unified in their reactions to what was happening live."
Vince McMahon is understood to have been backstage for Raw, which wasn't surprising, as Hartford is close to WWE's Stamford, CT home base. This was the 77-year-old's first Monday night taping since the Raw after WrestleMania 39 two months ago.
