SuperLuchas.net reports that former WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes had recently tested positive for a banned substance which would see him face a 30 day suspension under WWE's wellness policy. Cody was however able to provide a valid prescription from a licensed physician proving he was prescribed those drugs and was subsequently cleared. In the mean time though prior to him being cleared, it was initially expected that Cody Rhodes would in fact face a suspension and is possible reason why he was relinquished of the Intercontinental Title to Christian at WWE Over The Limit pay-per-view. After the event, Cody sent out cryptic Tweet which read:
Time off
The Tweet obviously led fans to believe that the second generation superstar would be disappearing from WWE TV for a while. However Cody has appeared on various shows since, increasing his feud with Christian and it looks as if his initial failing has had no repercussions. Cody Rhodes would have been the fourth WWE Superstar to be on the suspended list. Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton are currently serving 60 days suspensions for failing WWE's wellness policy, this being their second offense. While Chris Jericho was slapped with a 30 day suspension after desecrating the Brazilian flag whilst on tour in Brazil. It is also being reported that one other WWE superstar had recently failed their drug test and pending a prescribed note from a doctor, he or she will also be suspended.
