Could WWE's Cody Rhodes be about to get an on-screen manager? If the American Nightmare gets his way, that may well come to pass.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Cody told Mark Henry how he's weighing up the idea of having a "classic manager" at his side.

As Rhodes explained:

"One of the reasons I liked having Arn Anderson around me, it was nice to have a guy over my shoulder say what you just said. Say, ‘We’re not apologizing for greatness. Mediocrity loves company and we’re not joining that company.’ Like, it was nice to have that voice in your ear. It was something I actually missed when Logan and I were doing this contract signing, to see him flanked by so many people. I don’t know, maybe I’m looking for the classic wrestling manager to join me on this title reign. And I don’t know who that is or what that is, but it just felt like I wouldn’t mind someone to holler the stuff that you just did.”

When looking at the main roster landscape of WWE, managers are fairly few and far between these days. Of course, the Bloodline has Paul Heyman, but other than that there's only really Paul Ellering as an out-and-out manager, with B-Fab and Scarlett Bordeaux both serving as in-ring talent in addition to being managers/valets. Elsewhere, NXT has the now-Von Wagner-less Robert Stone.

If looking at managerial options for Cody Rhodes, one name that does jump out is that of his real-life wife Brandi. While she was a featured part of AEW programming during the couple's time with Tony Khan's promotion, Brandi has largely remained out of the spotlight since Cody returned to WWE in 2022, with her fleeting appearances being restricted to a couple of WrestleMania sightings.

On other topics, this Busted Open interview also saw Cody discuss AEW, stating how he "wouldn't root against" the company and describing his #AllElite time as "a really great season" in his life.
