PWInsider reported on Monday that "major changes" were being made to the Raw script. Vince McMahon was behind these, conducting the alterations remotely - leading to talent unhappiness backstage.

While details on what, exactly, was changed, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp stated during the show that Street Profits vs. Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin weren't on Raw's rundowns:-

2023 has seen McMahon return to a position of power in WWE after resigning in disgrace last July, doing so amidst multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. Despite stepping down as Chairman and CEO that month, McMahon retained majority voting power, allowing him to return to WWE's Board of Directors as Executive Chairman in January.

In April, the 77-year-old retained that title in the wake of Endeavor's WWE takeover, heading a soon-to-be-formed NewCo's wrestling operations in what will essentially become a merger with leading MMA organisation the UFC. Although Paul 'Triple H' Levesque remains WWE's Chief Content Officer and defacto head of creative, McMahon has regained the final say on everything that makes it to WWE television, placing him well above Levesque in the creative hierarchy.

Last-minute script changes and alterations were a hallmark of McMahon's run as WWE Chairman and CEO. These have become habitual again since the post-WrestleMania 39 Raw, which was changed while the show was ongoing.
