Last year we had Marvels big Event, Avengers Vs. X-Men, where superhero fought superhero in a (frankly, over-long) series that changed the Marvel Universe slightly and killed off a major character at the finale. This year we have DCs answer to AVX with their own superhero fighting superhero Event, Trinity War, with Part 1 kicking off next Wednesday 10 July in the pages of Justice League #22. The series will feature the Justice League Vs. Justice League of America Vs. Justice League Dark as the heroes battle one another with the mysterious Pandora caught in the middle. Readers of the first round of New 52 comics noticed a strange figure in the background of a panel in each #1 issue and speculated on what her appearance might mean. Well, it turns out she was the ominous harbinger for this Trinity War Event. What we know about Trinity War so far is that someone's death will trigger the conflict between the three Justice teams and, this being an Event, it will probably end with a death too. DCs tagline for the series is The Epic Event That Will Destroy The Worlds Greatest Heroes!, so what better way than by killing off someone big, and maybe a smattering of minor characters, to shake up the DCU? Of course, superheroes dont stay dead. DC have already killed off a big name earlier this year with Damian Wayne aka Robin, dying in the pages of Batman Incorporated only for it to be announced this week that the character is due to return in his own mini-series later this year! So here we go, some guesses at whose headstones are being carved out by DCs editorial team.
