A new year means one thing for film fans: more films. It's all terribly exciting seeing the slate choked with comic book movies, sequels and weird looking premises that genuinely look like jokes... Okay, so maybe that's needlessly venomous: theres admittedly a veritable sack full of superhero flicks and heaps of blockbusters about to bust their way onto your neighbourhood big screen, but 2016 also has some truly woeful movie miscues in store. Sucker for a sequel? All about action? If these ten terrible efforts at feature-length entertainment are anything to go by, your best bet for a popcorn-fuelled evening of pleasure at certain points during the year is probably not actually in the cinema. Of course, it goes against journalistic integrity to judge a film by its sleeve. It is, though, as the rules dictate, perfectly acceptable to judge movies on what is known of their plot, cast, budget, marketing and the collective track record of everyone involved, before laughing heartily at what are sure to be tremendously high-grossing, brain-bendingly soporific flops.
