In Hollywood, being accused of ripping-off a lesser-known or more obscure movie is just about the worst thing that can happen to any filmmaker (unless your name is Quentin Tarantino, of course, who somehow gets away with it on a frequent basis). Given the time, effort and money that Hollywood puts into its filmic ventures, though, it's not at all surprising to learn that some countries prefer to just borrow entire plots from successful flicks, and transpose them onto their foreign versions, instead of, say, coming up with their own original ideas. That'd be crazy, right? Which means that some incredibly bizarre rip-offs have made their way into existence over the course of the last few decades, many of which take familiar characters and concepts and twist them into the kind of narratives you might find scrawled on a wall in a mental institution.
