In recent years, the comic book movie genre has become an embarrassment of riches. Theres been more good adaptations than bad ones, and movies like The Dark Knight and The Avengers are practically begging for a re-watch to analyse every easter egg and pour over each performance. In many instances, the first viewing is so packed full of wonder and excitement that its easy to gloss over certain aspects of the film that actually make it impossible to come back to. For some films, the subject matter may simply be too depressing to suffer through more than once. For others, knowing how it ends may kill all of the suspense throughout the film. And in some extraordinary cases, newer iterations of the hero have made their older adventures pale in comparison. They were great movies the first time around, but as it currently stands, none of these superhero and graphic outings need to be revisited. These now represent the comic book films that'll forever gather dust on your DVD shelf...
