If you ask me, teleportation's just about the best superpower you could have. Yeah, maybe it's not the flashiest or the best for helping mankind (if you're into that kind of thing), but can you imagine never having to take the subway or go through airport security ever again? That's why the concept of Jumper is so interesting to me. I love the idea of this ability that hasn't really been explored in film too much, and the potential ramifications of its use. But here's where the film falls off the rails: they cast Hayden Christensen in the lead role. He's capable of turning in decent performances under only the very best of circumstances, and unfortunately his work in this film is poor to mediocre. Jumble the casting around and put Jamie Bell in the lead role, and you've got a significantly better picture... one that could have started a franchise.
