The feud caused by Quentin Tarantino's Hateful Eight rages on. After sending his latest screenplay to only a couple of selected actors, the outspoken director was furious when he found out that the whole thing leaked on the internet, a full year before he planned on shooting the picture. Determined to take a stand, Tarantino filed a lawsuit against the gossip website Gawker for being the source of the leakage and - out of principle more than anything - resolved to work on a different film. According to the man himself, he's got "10 more where that came from." 10, eh? On a more positive note, Tarantino has been vocal about how he'd love to conclude his historical revenge fantasy phase - started with 2009's Inglourious Basterds, and continued with 2012's Django Unchained - as a trilogy. Which begs the question: what historical incident could Tarantino use next, now that The Hateful Eight is most likely not happening? History has more than enough instances of massacres, genocides, accidents and periods of mass paranoia for someone like Tarantino to mould in his own fantastical way, creating cathartic twists for the victimized and the oppressed. Here are 10 such historical examples, together with potential cinematic scenarios, that Quentin Tarantino could focus on.
