10 Historical Revenge Fantasies That Quentin Tarantino Could Tackle Instead Of The Hateful Eight

10. Stalinism - The Katyn Massacre (1940)

QT could wash away the bitter taste of the Hateful Eight debacle by going back to the Second World War, only this time looking at Soviet Union's bloody chapters. While the history in Tarantino's revenge fantasies has been directly associated with America, Inglourious Basterds still did a great job of portraying the Nazis in their most depraved state, and the vengeful heart of the movie was a French-Jewish girl. Given his experience with multinational characters, Tarantino has what it takes to extend his imagination into a Stalinist scenario. While Hitler had his SS minions going around and violently enforcing his rule of law, Joseph Stalin had the NKVD, or People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs, doing much the same in the name of Communism. One of their most horrendous acts is known as the Katyn massacre; a mass execution of Polish nationals deep in the Katyn forest, a perfectly cinematic setting. Now, just imagine a revenge tale about a band of badass renegade Poles who stop at nothing until they reach Joseph Stalin himself. The opportunity to have a communist equivalent to Hans Landa would be an extra bingo.
