Comic book movies invariably contain a lot of fighting scenes and, as a result, a lot of punches are obviously thrown. Most punches are very generic - they're just part of any given combat situation - but some are more memorable and for varying reasons. Some punches are just epic - they take every ounce of energy that the respective thrower of said punch has - while some are memorable for failing to have any impact of their target. Others are memorable simply due to the circumstances in which they occur. Obviously, in such a fight-filled genre, there have been countless examples, so I've picked an assortment of the good, the bad and the esoteric to put in to a list (there are some great examples missing, as there are hundreds to choose from and I've opted to include a couple of the less obvious examples!). Here are ten memorable punch scenes in comic book movies...
Having previously been co-members of Team X - a group of mutants including his half-brother Victor Creed, Agent Zero, Wade Wilson, John Wraith, Fred Dukes and Chris Bradley - Wolverine seeks out Fred Dukes (who had put on a hell of a lot of weight in the six years since they'd last spoken) in order to gain some information to help him track down William Stryker and his half-brother (who is working for Stryker kidnapping and harming other mutants). In those six years, Wolverine had undergone a painful operation to reinforce his skeleton with the indestructible metal adamantium. Once the procedure was complete, Stryker attempted to betray Logan by ordering that his memory be erased, but Logan escaped. A kind elderly couple took him in, but Agent Zero killed them. Logan killed Zero in retaliation and swore to kill both Stryker and Victor. Upon finding Dukes, Wolverine requested information about Stryker, Creed and the mysterious "island" on which secret activity was taking place. Dukes refused to answer and when Wolverine said "come on, bub, for old times' sake", Dukes responded angrily - thinking that Wolverine had called him "Blob" (his name in the comics, incidentally) - and charged at him before unleashing a right hand that sent him flying across the room.
