As of this writing, 2024 has already served up some excellent horror offerings, with Late Night with the Devil, Stopmotion, Infest, Abigail, and Exhuma being early standouts of the year, and The First Omen being a welcome surprise for fans of that particular much-maligned franchise.

Fear not, though, for 2024 promises to serve up even more horror delights as the attention switches to the second half of the year. Whether that's original ideas, returning franchises, or a fresh take on an old favourite, the next six months have a bunch of horror films on the way that could well end up in the running when it comes to those end-of-year lists.

Of course, some of these pictures may ultimately not live up to the hype, but, for now at least, they've absolutely grabbed the attention and piqued interest, be that with their table-setting trailers, unique plots, or simply by amassing a truly magnificent cast. Anticipation is high for these features, and now it remains to be seen if that anticipation will be rewarded.

So, with that in mind, here are ten (hopefully!) great horror pictures still to come in 2024.

10. Stream

Without even exploring its plot, Michael Leavy's Stream is on the radar of many a horror hound solely due to its absolutely stacked cast.

Here, we have a film that's brought together a fantastic collection of horror favourites, including Re-Animator's Jeffrey Combs, Candyman's Tony Todd, Halloween's Danielle Harris, Sleepaway Camp's Felissa Rose, Terrifier's David Howard Thornton, The Strangers' Damian Maffei, Rob Zombie regular Daniel Roebuck, and the legendary Dee Wallace - whose credits range from The Hills Have Eyes, to Cujo, to Critters, to The Frighteners, to Halloween, to The House of the Devil, to The Lords of Salem, and plenty others, most notably as Mary Taylor, mother of Elliott in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Where the plot is concerned, Stream centres on the strained, fractured Keenan family as they embark on a vacation designed to bring them closer together. Unfortunately for the Keenans, things take a turn for the nefarious when four mysterious killers target the family, with paranoia lingering like a cloud over this situation where it pertains to the other guests at this holiday hotel.
