2015 has been a monumental year for cinema, what with Jurassic World, Furious 7, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Minions all sailing past the $1 billion mark at the box office, while the likes of Spectre, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and Star Wars Episode VII are sure to add to that list. On the other hand, though, there are franchises that are just struggling to build up a head of steam, either due to audience fatigue, terrible marketing or a movie that just flat-out sucked. Now, this list won't include bad movies like Terminator Genisys, because as much as most hate to admit it, the film ended up being saved by that lucrative Chinese box office gross, and will ensure the series pumps out at least one more movie. No, these 10 franchises, whether continuations of hit TV shows, relentless recyclings of a great original or that straight-to-video beast that keeps limping along, seem to have been shot with a silver bullet with their latest efforts, commercial and often critical failure following in their wake.
