Every fibre of your being is screaming for you to look away, ignore the events unfolding on the screen before you…and yet…you can’t help but continue watching. Your toes are curling, but your eyes are practically glued to the screen, you don’t know why, but you push through, uncomfortable yet enthraled.

10. Jackson Maine At The Grammy Awards - A Star Is Born (2018)

MGM

It’s every musician’s dream to win a Grammy, one of the highest accolades for the craft and a golden seal of approval in the eyes of the industry, so when Lady Gaga’s Ally is announced as the winner of the award for Best New Artist it’s a dream come true…until it immediately turns into a nightmare.

As Ally goes on stage to accept the award, her husband, Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine, in a heavily intoxicated stupor stumbles on stage. He begins slurring incoherently and crashes her acceptance speech, ruining her big moment and embarrassing both Ally and himself. It’s tragic and truly uncomfortable to watch, and that discomfort turns to pain when Jackson proceeds to wet himself on stage.

Despite the potent cringe and pain this scene evokes, it is undoubtedly gripping and compels you to watch on regardless.
