10 Scariest Uses Of Force Power In Star Wars History

The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force...

The Force has become ubiquitous as a concept in our culture. Most people know what you mean if you say 'Use the Force Luke' and understand that the Light side is good and the Dark side is bad. While they may not be able to explain what a midi-chlorian is, they will likely be able to explain that the Force allows humans (and some aliens) to do very cool things with their minds.

What they may not immediately think about are the many terrifying uses of the Force, and some of the resulting implications that have been created through over forty years of movies, books, comics, video games, and cartoons.

The Force is a powerful thing, coming to many who are evil as easily as it comes to heroes like Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Rey Palpatine / Skywalker (your choice as to the last one. We're staying neutral.) A tool, even a powerful one like the Force, can be turned to whatever use the user wants, whether it was meant to do that job or not.

Here are ten times that George Lucas' world of spaceships, droids, and Saturday matinee-style adventure took a turn for the terrifying through (ab)use of the Force.

10. Dorsk 81 Pushes A Fleet Of Star Destroyers Away From The Jedi Temple

In the years after the destruction of the second Death Star, Luke Skywalker traveled the galaxy, looking for potential students for a new Jedi Academy.

One of the students he found, Dorsk 81, was a young alien from Khomm. Khomm's inhabitants believed they had reached genetic perfection at a certain point and, as a result, continued family lines through cloning. Dorsk 81 was an anomaly, however, being Force sensitive, and felt ostracized from his people. He was more than happy to join Luke.

During the events of the novel Darksaber, an Imperial fleet of 17 Star Destroyers was in orbit over the Jedi Academy, ready to level it. Dorsk 81 proposed using the Force to simply push the fleet away.

Assembling the other Jedi students around the base of a temple, Dorsk 81 stood at the temple's peak, completely opening his body to the Force. He expended not only his own energy, but drained that of the students around him, successfully pushing the fleet out of the system, tumbling the Star Destroyers like toys.

Unfortunately, that much Force energy ravaged Dorsk 81. His body was completely burned out; eyes smoking, mind fried, as he died racked with pain, but a hero.
