It's been a few decades but the wait is almost over. After wallowing around in development hell for what seems like an age, the next installment of the Max Mad series finally went into production last year and is due to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. It's difficult to say whether or not Mad Max: Fury Road will live up to its predecessors - on the one hand, the amount of time it has spent in development hell is surely long enough for anyone to fine tune a film within an inch of its life; yet on the other hand, such a long gestation period could mean that it's trapped in the past, unable to live up to more contemporary concepts. Before audiences finally get to feast their eyes on Fury Road it's time to take a look back over the Mad Max trilogy and pick out a few juicy film facts you probably didn't know.
