Please, just let Buzz and Woody rest!

Is there anyone more fickle than movie fans? While you can't please everybody even at the best of times, when it comes to making movies it feels like making anybody happy at all is getting harder and harder.

Films will never be perfect, and these imperfections will always be picked up on and scrutinised like they are the be-all and end-all of the project's success. Even in the face of a brilliant outing, it seems the paying public will strive to find and magnify the faults, no matter how small some of them may be.

You would have thought that fans would at least have the decency to wait until actually seeing these movies before forming their opinions on them, but that's not always the case. There are a number of films yet to even release that have already given fans reason to take exception with them.

These range from fairly reasonable reservations and understandable complaints, to the kind of thing you simply can't criticise a movie on until you've seen it. From more Disney remakes, to unpopular casting decisions and tampering with a classic, the following 10 features are already facing an uphill climb.

10. Mufasa: The Lion King

Remakes and reboots, particularly within the realms of Disney, are done so frequently that the announcement of almost every one is met with a groan from potential audiences. More details will come on one in particular later in this list, but for now, suffice to say that people are about sick of them.

A good live-action remake is a tough tightrope walk at the best of times. A shot for shot remake will risk pissing fans off for being pointless and uninspired, but add in too much new material and you may frustrate fans for not being faithful enough to the original.

In a strange way, The Lion King will soon have experienced both sides of this particular coin. The original remake in 2019 was criticised for bringing absolutely nothing different to proceedings, but next year the sequel/prequel will release with arguably the biggest change you could ever make to The Lion King.

That's right, in Mufasa: The Lion King, which will both follow on from The Lion King and act as a prequel at the same time, will NOT feature James Earl Jones as the titular character. Imagine Iron Man 4 without Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. No, plenty of fans are not happy about this, and it's hard to argue with them.
