10 Writers Who Should Tackle The Justice League Movie (Other Than David S. Goyer)

By Dan Wilson /

I know that it's been floating around now for a while, but it seems all the more inevitable now that Batman Vs. Superman is coming. With Marvel and DC making major waves in every medium, it would seem implausible to think that DC wouldn't want to set up a big screen team-up movie of their very own. We already have a few roles filled, in Henry Cavill (Superman) and Ben Affleck (Batman). It would also seem that as of this writing there may exist a short list for Wonder Woman and Dick Grayson. Behind the scenes we already have Zack Snyder, David S. Goyer, and Christopher Nolan, all at work to provide us with a foundation that the JLA will stand on. Indeed, David Goyer has had his hand in the comic book cookie jar for a long time, and has been really growing as a writer with his work on DC properties. When we have all these names in production at once, though, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman - and more than likely - Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, it'd be easy to imagine the man spreading himself a little thin. Since before Man of Steel came out, Goyer was attached to the project, but we know how these things work out. It's all tentative, and chances are he's a placeholder name right now. So, the question remains: who else, other than Goyer, do we want to see write this thing? Well, that all depends, doesn't it? The screenplay is going to shape what kind of movie we get, of course. Do we want a full-on action movie, an epic showdown between the JLA and the society of super villains... what about a big sci-fi piece? Let's look into these possibilities as I fill you in on 10 writers who I think should snag the gig...
