With this year's Academy Awards firmly in our rear-view, it's time to start looking forward to which films might score Oscar love next year.
It may be early days, but from what we've seen so far and what's already slated for release, Oscar prognosticators can make some educated guesses about who might be up for a gong early next year. More to the point, what about those surprise performances that could sneak a gold statue totally out of nowhere?
These 11 actors would certainly turn heads if they scooped Oscars next year, either because they're the furthest thing imaginable from a typical awards contender, or they're playing a part that's not in any way conventionally Oscar-worthy.
As the Academy has tried to prove itself more inclusive and less stuffy in recent years, it's probably reasonable to expect more surprise winners in the future.
