Why She Might Win: The prior versions of A Star is Born have been extremely awards-friendly, with both Janet Gaynor and Judy Garland being nominated for Best Actress Oscars in the equivalent role.

Plus, Hollywood loves it when a singer tries their hand at acting - especially if they do it halfway-decently - and given Lady Gaga's prior Golden Globes success on American Horror Story, she's already proven she has solid acting chops.
