Rick and Louis walk off into the mist; Indy and his friends ride off into the sunset; Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock get it on in a crashed train. We all love a great movie ending. A tight, iconic moment can seal an already cracking film in the pantheon of classics. Even when an ending has a slightly confusing element we€™re still happy to overlook it - what compelled Bruce Willis to ignore the table in front of the door in The Sixth Sense?

Here are thirteen of these awkward moments that must have happened after the end of famous movies. These endings are far from airtight and ill-thought-out decisions have created many problems you wouldn't notice without spending way too much time writing a list on them. A spoiler warning for all the films involved is in effect. It€™'s worth noting the logic of the endings will also be spoiled, as well as the general plot.

The implication at the end of Brett Ratner€™'s surprisingly not-awful Red Dragon is that this film€™'s events directly lead into the much superior The Silence Of The Lambs. This means that moments after the end of the prequel we get the awkward first meeting between Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter (who has miraculously deaged by ten years in about five minutes).
