20 Best Movies Starring Batman Actors In 2015

Gotham's certainly been busy.

2015 was certainly a busy year for actors attached to the Batman cinematic universe. And we're not just talking about Christopher Nolan's version, either. Just about anyone who's ever appeared in a movie that was set in Gotham--yes, even the bright and shiny merchandising factory presented by Joel Schumacher--committed a performance to celluloid in something or other this past year. A few of these former Gotham-ites were apparently in a competition to see how many roles they could say "yes" to before they literally died from exhaustion and an overwhelming sense of exhaustion. (We're looking at you, Eric Roberts.) Though some have, unfortunately, went another year without reappearing on the big screen. (Come on, Adam West! Get back in front of the camera!) Still, if you were disappointed in the massive, Dark Knight-sized hole in the cinema landscape of 2015, rest assured that there were plenty of appearances from the Batman alumni scattered throughout some of the best films to be released last year. Of course, there was also a fair crop of stinkers. (Again, eyes on you, Eric.) How many were you able to see?

20. The Last Witch Hunter

Batman Alum: Michael Caine A witch move set in modern times, The Last Witch Hunter answers the question, "What happens when an immortal predator, longing for his deceased loved ones, is forced to spend eternity killing supposedly mythical creatures that the general public mustn't know about?" It answers this question with a resounding, "Who gives a sh*t! It's Vin Diesel driving fast cars again! This time with witches!" Cookie cutter isn't a boring enough word for this, and even the stately Michael Caine, as Diesel's mentor and the narrator of the film, can't inject much gravitas into a movie that sounds like it should be a popcorn-selling powerhouse of fun and flashiness (VIN DIESEL DRIVING AN ASTON MARTIN AND KILLING WITCHES), but lacks even the smallest hint of joy. Caine is likely hoping the planned sequel doesn't go through, so that he can find a different movie to pay him handsomely and use that paycheck to make another indie project.
