Yup, these still sting.

2019 was a wildly mixed bag. While there were some terrific movies, such as Parasite, Ad Astra, Marriage Story, Little Women, Booksmart, Knives Out, The Irishman, Avengers: Endgame, High Life, Uncut Gems, Hotel Mumbai and The Farewell (to name a few), there were a ton of stinkers too, especially during the summer period.

With these terrible movies have come moments that most likely had everyone wanting to storm out of the cinema, leaving an incredibly sour aftertaste. These include terrible plot twists, dumb gags, appalling CGI and much more. They vary considerably, but they're all infuriating, staggeringly awful bits of film.

So, what are the movie moments from 2019 that made us all want to pelt the screen with rotten fruit the most?

It's time to find out.

20. Zombieland: Double Tap - The Two Women Up And Leave For No Reason

Zombieland: Double Tap isn't particularly good all things considered and while it can be quite funny, it's just a forgettable horror comedy in the end. Frankly, it felt un-needed since the original Zombieland wasn't anything that special and it's surprising that anyone even remembers it.

Perhaps the thing which sinks the film the most is how bad the story's inciting incident is. Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) randomly ditch Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), despite having been travelling with them for the past ten years, and their reasons? Wichita fears she's too attached to Columbus and Little Rock feels Tallahassee treats her like a child.

Whatever way you look at it, this was completely unbelievable and given how petty the two women were being it was far harder to become invested in their survival. To make matters worse, what already felt like a pointless film now felt even more pointless since the main story was set off in such an arbitrary, idiotic way.
