5 Worst Films From Cannes 2015

Lots of incest. Lots of suicide. Little quality.

Although Cannes is the most prestigious film festival in the world, a place where great but unhyped films get some mainstream exposure and high-reaching movies begin their journey to the Oscars, it's not without its fair share of duds. Pretentious films so far up their director's arse their lighting budget must have gone through the roof or sloppily made movies that don't deserve such a high-profile vantage point, there are plenty of movies you want to avoid, five of which from this year are highlighted here. The perceived response to a bad movie is a wave of angered boos, although that's not necessarily the case. Only one film (#3 on this list) from the festival featured audible jeering after its press screening; any other cases of heckling were overshadowed by the more conventional round of applause (although #1 was notably greeted with a stunned silence). That all attests to how Cannes 2015 had more in the way of divisive films than widely hated duds - some of the films on this list wound up taking home big awards at the final ceremony.
