It's been a crazy couple of weeks, with long-standing masters of the form delivering substandard work and first timers causing gasps that can be heard all the way down the Croisette. With twenty films In Competition, only a couple less in Un Certain Regard, various high profile Out of Competition films and a seemingly infinite number in the market, there's of lot of movies to get through to find the cream of the crop. When dozens of films can come with the "Cannes Official Selection" mark on the poster, it's hard to know what's actually worth checking out and what coasted its way into the Grand Theatre Lumiere.
