7 Deadly (And Annoying) Sins Commited By Moviegoers

By Edan Nissen /

I can't even begin to count the amount of times that I've been in one of the situations I'm about to describe. The scenario is set, at the movie theatre, with a bag of popcorn, a drink and my phone is switched off or silent. Then something will happen or someone will do something to take away from the movie experience. I know I sound like a grump, but some of this stuff is really easy to avoid. Yet in almost every movie there is always one a-hole that ruins it for the people around them. You know who you are, and now I'm calling you out over the stupid things people tend to do in a cinema. Aside from some of the noises of people eating popcorn loudly, or accidentally getting hit from behind by the person getting comfortable, or even the person that walks through the row because they have to get to the bathroom and block your view. No, all those while annoying, are excusable. Popcorn/Choc Tops/drinks/food in general understandably enhance the viewing pleasure, and we do all that we can to enhance our personal viewing pleasure while at the movie theatre, even if it does cost us around $100 every time we want a small popcorn and drink (however, it also comes with a toy that will either remain untouched at your desk, or thrown out soon after the movie has ended). I understand the moving around in the seat, as the person is clearly trying to get as comfortable as you hopefully are in your seat, it isn't on purpose or malicious, just hope that they find their groove soon and try and enjoy the movie. In the third scenario, even though they do temporarily block your view and often chose the most important scene to do so, with the alternative being they don't go and end up going to the bathroom in their seat, be glad they were polite enough to go to the bathroom and leave you with 2 seconds of missed footage as opposed to a horrible smell for the rest of the film that makes you unable to focus at all. No, the following list is the 7 most annoying sins that movie goers do.
