Since the first film adaptation of Todd MacFarlanes demonic superhero hit the big screen nearly two decades ago, fans have been hoping for a reboot which actually does the character right rather than being yet another PG-13 snoozefest. The series follows Al Simmons, a former CIA agents who is killed in action and resurrected as a super powered demon. Rather than leading the armies of Hell, as was originally planned, he instead opts to protect humanity from both the forces of darkness. It's often cited as one of the best original comic series of the '90s, due to its darker, more twisted take on superhero traits. MacFarlane has constantly stated that hes trying to get a reboot off the ground, and that it will made on a shoestring budget with an R-rating in mind. So far, nothing definitive has materialised, but he recently stated that the script has been completed, so theres a chance that this could finally go into production soon.
