2018's sequel-reboot Halloween had a lot riding on it, it had the mammoth task of bringing a legendary series back from the dead. With everything at stake and fans already apprehensive, it was a tense wait until October 2018 to see if Michael Myers would reign supreme once more at the box office.

Grossing over $250 million, David Gordon Green's simplistic approach to Halloween and the Michael Myers mythos became the highest grossing slasher film in history. With the series resurrected on top form, it was little surprise when not one but TWO sequels were announced, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends.

With Halloween Kills already facing a setback due to our current world circumstances, the appetite for the film is at an insatiable pitch. Blumhouse and Universal only appear to be fanning the flames with press releases promising "the ultimate sequel" and "the perfect slasher movie!"

With fans hopeful that the October 2021 release date will remain in place, we muse what Halloween Kills needs to do in order to live up to such bold marketing statements. Join me as we discuss 8 Things We Want From Halloween Kills.

8. A Very Angry, But Still Human, Michael Myers

Over the years Michael Myers has gained an undeniable reputation as an unstoppable force. As the series continued some sought to explain his impressive resilience and outright refusal to die. However, 2018's Halloween stripped away all the complex lore and left us with a much more human seeming Myers.

He is old and battle scarred from his 1978 encounter and upon beginning a new killing spree is indeed able to be be injured and slowed down. Although his tolerance still seems ridiculously high, Myers is unquestionably bothered when shot, hit with a car and permanently losing two fingers.

This more realistic approach to the character earned high praise, most agreeing that it made the character all the more terrifying. Coupled with this was the palpable rage one feels when watching Myers put his brute strength to work. The viewer senses he is seething after 40 years of incarceration giving him an even greater, and somewhat understandable, menacing quality.

So, after obtaining many, many more battle scars and losing the last fight, fans have been clamoring to see just how pissed Myers will be in Halloween Kills and just how his injuries will affect him. Will this bring a whole new level of brutality to his bloodshed? Or will this still human Boogeyman get his ass kicked once more? We'd love to see a little of both!
