Aquaman: 10 Things Fans Demand Most
He doesn't HAVE to date a dolphin - but...
Love it or hate it, the trailer for the new Aquaman film has shown promise to stay faithful to its comic book counterpart.
There are a whole host of incredible Aquaman comics to turn to, for direct or indirect inspiration for the film, meaning there is incredible potential for the film to be something genuinely special. Having said that, there’s equal potential for the whole thing to be some rehashed action-adventure garbage, so all bets are off until its release in December.
Bets may be off, but theories and hopes are still high among fans for the movie. With such a catalogue of unexplored badassery to pick from, it’s uncertain what parts of the comic will be used for the big screen, and which won’t. Combine this with a need to build – and improve – upon the foundations already set by all the other DCEU films, and Aquaman has some pretty big shoes to fill.
No single film can condense dolphin romance, underwater wizards, and orange spandex – but dear god, do we all hope they try.
10. The Iconic Outfit
You'd be forgiven for thinking that the iconic orange and green Aquaman outfit wasn't going to make it into the film - after all, the jarringly bright colours can make it a huge glaring eyesore. Whether you consider this a blessing or curse, a handful of shots in the trailer do seem to show us a set of armor that looks suspiciously similar to said original costume.
On a practical level, to see a successful adaption of Aquaman’s actual costume would also say some promising things about the team behind the film. With the current Teen Titan’s remake being absolutely slated for its questionable costume design, seeing a visually appealing costume remake would keep those same concerned fans from also tearing into Aquaman – for the costume, at least.
Nobody wants Jason Momoa in bright green spandex, but having him in some form of the iconic outfit Aquaman is known for would be the cherry on top for both film and fans.
