Avengers 4: 10 Rumours We Know Are Bull

No, Tony Stark won't be taking over from Doctor Strange...

Avengers 4 might well be the most talked about movie of all time. After the explosive ending of Infinity War and the devastating cost of Thanos' snap, fans were cast into a year-long maw of silence and told that answers would be coming, but they'd have to wait. That sort of teasing is the perfect way to whip up hype.

The film's spoilers are also some of the most valuable ever, so they're locked down on an almost unprecented level (including, apparently, secret plots to misdirect the press with false information). And in that information vacuum, it's inevitable that rumours and theories have sprung forth.

Unfortunately, some of them have been complete garbage and it's very obvious that they can be debunked even this far away from release...

10. Loki Didn't Die

The Rumour

Rather than being killed at the hands of Thanos in the explosive opening of Avengers: Infinity War, this theory suggests that Loki pulled another trick (even though Thanos specifically mentioned it being real) and survived.

The "evidence" here was based on precedent since he'd faked his own death before and on the strange behaviour of Bruce Banner, whose strange reluctance to Hulk out was suggested as a hint that Banner is really just Loki wearing a Hulk suit.

The Debunking

Loki died. Sure, he's getting his own series, but there's no way that's not going to be either a prequel (possibly dealing with his exile?) or set in a new (or changed) timeline. His death was an important statement of Thanos' power and making it a fake-out would undermine the most legitimate threat this movie franchise has ever seen.

That's not the same as undoing his acts with time travel, which is much more likely, but Loki pulling the same trick he has before would be ludicrous. So it's lucky it's not happening.
