Avengers 4: 10 Twists Nobody Will See Coming

Surprises from beyond infinity.

Avengers: Infinity War is a tough act to follow. Not only is it one of the most successful blockbusters of all time, it also ended on a cliffhanger that left no room for copping out. Thanos eradicating half the universe in the film act isn't the kind of thing that can be reversed without shedding blood, sweat and tears along the way.

With this in mind, Avengers 4 has an unenviable task on its hands. The Russo Brothers' follow-up has to revisit that cliffhanger and resolve it in a satisfactory way, while also bringing the curtain down on everything that came before it.

If interviews from the directorial duo, the movie's writers and its cast are anything to go by, Avengers 4 will be just as unpredictable as Infinity War and include twists just as memorable as Thanos's 'snap'. These are bold claims, but Marvel Studios' recent track record suggests it is capable of delivering on them.

Avengers 4 is still shrouded in secrecy, to the extent that its title is yet to be revealed. What little the fans know comes from set leaks and rumours, but luckily, that's more than enough to make a few predictions about the biggest twists that lie in store.

10. M’Baku Becomes The New Black Panther

Winston Duke’s M’Baku has proven a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, showing off his leadership skills as the head of the Jabari tribe in Black Panther and proving an asset on the battlefield during the events of Infinity War.

Following T'Challa's disintegration, Wakanda has a vacancy in the Black Panther department, and most fans are expecting his sister Shuri to fill it. There's precedent for this in the comics as the princess has donned the cat mantle in numerous stories.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, she lacks the experience to step up as Wakanda's new ruler. Although Shuri has plenty going for her intellectually and where ass-kicking is concerned, Duke's character is a more suitable candidate for the throne, and Avengers 4 could deviate from the source material by placing him on it.

Shuri has the makings of a future Black Panther and could well suit up in another MCU movie down the line, but the fourth Avengers is more likely to see a surprise candidate emerge as the African nation's new king and protector.
