Avengers: Infinity War - Predicting All 76 Characters
That's an awful lot of catering demands.
Not so long ago, we were all told that there were something like 67 characters in Marvel's epic ensemble, Avengers: Infinity War, and the world scoffed in disbelief. Surely there was no way any film could possibly manage to balance that many characters in a 150 minute (ish) run-time without it being an irredeemable mess with no characterisation and no invitation to care about what happens to anyone?
Well, hold on to your butts, because according to Chris Hemsworth, that number wasn't even high enough.
The Thor star revealed in an interview recently that there are closer to 80 cast members, and there's no way he means including extras, background artists and stunt-workers.
“This is one of the biggest things in film history and to be a part of it was just incredible. I think what these characters are about to face — with Thanos — there’s been nothing quite like it. There are 76 cast members or something like that."
To say it's a big project is an understatement by some distance, and that magic number inspires one question above all else: who could they all be?!
76. Stan Lee
Status: GUARANTEED
As long as there's breath in his lungs, Stan Lee will continue to appear in MCU movies, so there's no way the Marvel supremo won't be turning up in Infinity War.
Quite what he'll be doing remains to be seen, but expect a humorous edge, even with Thanos smashing the place up. Precedent certainly suggests that sort of tone, anyway.
