The Dark Knight's greatest hits.

It’s safe to say that, despite some people’s insistence to the contrary, the comic book movie is going nowhere. In fact, it is only going from strength to strength. As Marvel continues to dominate the box office, more and more obscure comic book characters are making their big screen bow, gaining legions of new fans in the process.

It’s fantastic news for the comics industry in general but, if the comic bubble were to suddenly burst, there is still one character who would have fans running to the cinema in droves: Batman. Batman is much more than simply a comic book character; he is an iconic figure that has been prevalent in pop culture for almost 100 years and his popularity shows no signs of waning.

Despite a few setbacks in the Dark Knight’s movie canon (I don’t have to spell them out do I?) the character is still a huge draw and it is easy to see why. His rogues’ gallery is easily one of, if not the best, in comics; he has a vast arsenal of awesome gadgets and vehicles and, to put it bluntly, he is just damn cool.

So, with that in mind, here are the 10 best moments from Batman movies so far.

10. Riddler Changes The Bat Signal Into A Question Mark (Batman Forever)

Ok, so Batman Forever was the spade that dug the grave for Batman & Robin to take a huge kamikaze dive into, but it did have some redeeming features and this is the best. It’s telling that it is simply a cool little visual and not something integral to the story but boy does it look awesome?

After Commissioner Gordon calls Bats using the signal, Riddler’s green lasers paint a question mark above it, essentially turning it into the little dot at the bottom.

It not only looks cool, but it also gives an extra little insight into Edward Nygma’s psyche. His entire motivation for becoming the Riddler was to prove that he is smarter and superior to Batman in every way and this was a fantastic way of saying this without saying anything.
