With the surprisingly successful Ant-Man almost completely faded from cinemas, Phase 2 in Marvels gloriously Machiavellian masterplan to make their shared universe superhero franchise utterly indispensable to cinemagoers is finished. Phase 3 begins with the next Captain America movie, subtitled Civil War and given the likely storyline pitting Tony Stark against Steve Rogers (as it did in the comics that inspired it), this movie will effectively be an Avengers 2.5. Of course, there are going to be some significant changes to the way the storyline plays out. Therell be no need for a Superhuman Registration Act per se, as virtually no one in the MCU keeps a secret identity (or even wears a mask: in point of fact, Daredevils the only superhuman in the MCU that actually fights crime). With mention of the Sokovia Accords (referenced in Ant-Man's post-credits scene) being the primary plot point that kicks off the conflict, it seems clear that international pressure will be brought to bear to ensure that the annual wholesale loss of life and property damage like this doesnt occur again. The superhumans must be contained all of them. Given the rampant speculation as to the path the story will take and the consequences for the next Avengers movie proper (the two part Infinity War due in May 2018 and 2019), MCU fanatics are waiting for the new trailer for Captain America: Civil War with bated breath. Footage from the film was recently shown at Disneys D23 Expo, but theres a distinct possibility that an official trailer may take an entirely different form. Heres what wed like to see.
