Comic-Con 2018: 6 Ups And 3 Downs

The weird, wonderful, and woeful coming out of San Diego.

After four blurry days of superhero hype, huge reveals, major surprises, and more trailers than any sane person would actually sit and watch, San Diego Comic-Con is over for another year.

The annual California event once again brought with it panels from some of the biggest names in film and television (and even the odd comic book panel, too), with creators and casts giving those in attendance at Hall H or just eagerly paying attention at home updates on their favourite movie franchises and TV shows.

Andrew Lincoln confirmed his departure from The Walking Dead, Petty Jenkins, Gal Gadot, and Chris Pine showed up with some surprise Wonder Woman 1984 footage, and the likes of Shazam, Aquaman, Iron Fist, the Arrowverse, Star Trek Discovery, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and many more were all well represented.

There's so much going on across the long weekend that a lot of it can simply pass people by, and it's the really good or the really bad that tends to stand out. This year's iteration had plenty of the former, and unfortunately, it's fair share of the latter too.
