Dawn Of The Justice League: Everything You Need To Know

First look at Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg concept art and more!

By Dan Woburn /

Last night the DC Films Presents special landed on the CW, hosted by filmmaking superfan Kevin Smith and DC's Chief Creative Officer/longtime writer Geoff Johns. Considering that come March, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will ostensibly kick the DC Cinematic Universe into high gear, it was a strong marketing move from Warner Bros., with the special doing a great job of introducing all the disparate characters of the Justice League to spread the good word amongst potential viewers as to what exactly is coming down the pipe. Of course, nowhere near as many people would watch the CW special as those who will (hopefully) turn up for the films themselves, but that's neither here nor there. Batman V Superman will feature Wonder Woman on the big screen for the first time and also is heavily rumoured to have Aquaman in the mix, so Warner Bros. have taken this step to at least build some buzz about that fact, and the respective future of each character in the Justice League franchise. Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash are all getting their own movies, at least after all meeting up for the first time in 2017's Justice League: Part One, and the special did a solid job of introducing those characters and whetting fans appetites with a brief glimpse at several of the actors in costume - either from fresh footage or previously-unseen concept art. Let's take a look at everything we learned from the special.

7. The New Suicide Squad Trailer!

Arguably the most anticipated footage of the night, as fans have been clamouring for a proper trailer for the supervillain team-up movie since the Comic-Con footage hit the web last year. The aforementioned use of Queen here works spectacularly, and really sells the (ironically) bright, darkly-comic tone of the film, which was definitely not present in the SDCC reel from July. Two notable elements; The Joker is wisely kept to a minimum - it's him, he's here, we know that. Let's save all his good moments for the film. We get a couple of good glimpses at Enchantress - whom eagle-eyed viewers may figure out is probably the true villain of the piece. We see her in the White House (no reason for her to be there other than to do harm) and also a big mystical tendril-demon enacting wanton property damage and whipping army guys. Said tendril-demon, a suitably supernatural-looking creature, is easily connected to Enchantress. Take a look for yourself at the trailer below!

Suicide Squad is released on 5 August 2016.
