Game Over, Man! Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

Netflix's middling Die Hard parody.

Netflix's Originals line-up hasn't been off to the most stellar start this year, but it looked like that might all change with the release of this new-action comedy from Workaholics co-creators Adam DeVine, Blake Anderson, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck.

Sadly, that's not quite the case, and early reviews have rightly been deeming Game Over, Man!, a riotous send-up of Die Hard, a so-so affair. It isn't as clever as you might want it to be, for sure, but the charming central trio and shamelessly absurd narrative do win it some easy plus points.

What works in the film's favour more than anything is this: if you're a Netflix subscriber, you can watch it without buying a movie ticket, and if you're crushing a few beers or watching it with some friends at the weekend, you're probably going to have a basically OK time.

It could've been much more considering the talent attached, but it's not a bad movie either. It's a middle-of-the-road effort that at least moves fast and doesn't outstay its welcome...
