Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2: All 5 Credit-Scenes Detailed And Explained

Sequel setup, Groot's new look and a fan theory confirmed?

This past weekend brought with it another enjoyable, funny and solid entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - but this time, there's one noticeably distinct difference.

Rather than the usual one - or two - post-film teases we're served with while the credits are rolling (or have stopped rolling), Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 comes packing no less than five completely separate scenes.

These range from creative gags and skits to hints at sequels and the future of the MCU, and if you're going to check out the movie this weekend, you should definitely stick around until the screen goes black and the usher comes in to clean.

Of course, as is the case with 99 percent of post-credit scenes, you can safely skip them without it affecting your enjoyment of the preceding movie, but if you're a fan of Marvel's cinematic universe or the comic-book source material, there's plenty to digest in all five moments.

Let's break down each scene - in the order they appear - and discuss what each could mean.

Major spoilers for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 will follow.

5. Kraglin Playing With Yondu's Arrow

The Scene: With the unfortunate passing of Yondu after the film's climactic battle, his signature weapon, the Yaka Arrow - a deadly device that's controlled by whistling - was up for grabs.

Star-Lord presents the arrow to Kraglin, Yondu's close friend and fellow Ravager. But as Kraglin finds out, it's not as easy to use as his recently-departed leader made it out to be.

As Kraglin whistles, the arrow jumps off the ground, then swiftly falls back down again. He whistles again, but this time loses control - shooting the arrow straight into Drax, who was minding his own business round the corner.

As Drax screams in pain, Kraglin cheekily walks away in an attempt to avoid taking the blame.

What You Should Take Away From It: First and foremost, this is intended as a throwaway gag, with no real bearing on the film itself or any films that will follow.

But Kraglin's larger role in Vol. 2, including his appearance in this scene, does seem to suggest that he's being set up for an even larger role in the next Guardians sequel, with the character possibly becoming the newest member of the team.

That's if he isn't already - after all, he refers to Star-Lord as "captain" - but we'll have to wait for the sequel to find out whether or not he sticks around.

But even based purely on the evidence in this film, it seems likely. After all, Kraglin rescues the Guardians from the destruction of Ego's planet, and in the film's closing moments, they're all together on the same ship, which is where this scene takes place.

The man who plays Kraglin, Sean Gunn, has also been confirmed to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, so it's a safe bet to expect more from the character going forward.
