The Scene: Stakar Ogord (Sylvester Stallone), captain of the Ravagers, had a rather rocky relationship with Yondu. Still, that didn't stop the former showing up to pay his respects at the latter's funeral, along with dozens and dozens of Ravager ships.

After the funeral (and in this scene) Stakar gathers a handful of Ravagers together; Charlie-27 (Ving Rhames), Mainframe (voiced by Miley Cyrus), Aleta Ogord (Michelle Yeoh), Krugarr (a CG character), and Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum).

The group vows to go steal some sh*t, and the short scene swiftly ends.

What You Should Take Away From It: Stallone's Stakar Ogord did not have a huge role in the film, but Marvel Studios do have big plans for the character going forward, according to the director of both Guardians movies, James Gunn.

Speaking to the Toronto Sun, Gunn said:

“My plan is to see more of him [Stakar]. I’m not sure about him appearing in Vol. 3, we’ll have to see about that, but it’s our plan to see more of Stallone. Kevin [Feige] and I are working on what is going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it’s going to go. We plan to see the rest of them in the future.”

The "them" that Gunn refers to toward the end of that statement is the gang of Ravagers we mentioned previously. In the same interview, Gunn also stated:

“It’s my plan to have Sly — and I talked to him last night — to find a place for him in the future of the Marvel Universe.”

Gunn's comments indicate that this team of Guardians will be major players going forward, and, considering another comment he made in that same interview with the Toronto Sun, they could very well be the focus of the fourth Guardians movie:

“I think the first three movies tell a single story and that story is pretty simple. I think that there could be a Guardians Vol. 4, but it would not be the same. It would not be the same group… basically the story of this group ends with Vol. 3.”

So after Guardians Of The Galaxy 3, is it bye-bye Chris Pratt and hello Sly Stallone? However it goes down, this is not the last time we'll be seeing Stakar and his rag-tag group of cosmic pirates.
