Hollywood may have been shut down due to all the craziness happening in the world right now, but a huge piece of news broke last night when it was revealed that Henry Cavill is in talks to return to the DC Extended Universe as Superman. It was said that he had parted ways with Warner Bros. after a dispute over money, but something behind the scenes has clearly changed.

Now, this shared world has gone from not having a Superman to the door being open for any number of stories, and while details are still scarce about what the plan is for the Man of Steel, the possibilities moving forward are arguably endless.

There's already speculation that rather starring in his own film, Superman will serve as the DCEU's Hulk, showing up in other franchises, enhancing what we see in them by playing a supporting role. That's just one of many possibilities, though, hence why now seems like a good time to figure out what comes next for Cavill's version of this iconic hero on the big - or small - screen from here.

With that in mind, you'll find a wide array of predictions here which shed some light on Superman's potential future as things finally start looking up for Warner Bros.' comic book universe...

10. Black Adam Vs. Superman

Dwayne Johnson and Henry Cavill share the same agent, so if you want to thank anyone for the British actor's Superman return, it's Dany Garcia. The trio have shared a lot of intriguing Instagram posts in the past, and putting these two titans in the same movie for an epic battle is surely an inevitability.

While Black Adam is going to be an origin story for that character, it's also set to take place in the present day, and Superman getting involved with the anti-hero's battle against the Justice Society of America does make sense. Ultimately, it's a fight which could be better off saved for somewhere down the line, but there's no reason some sort of meeting couldn't take place during the 2021 release.

If Johnson's Black Adam is indeed going to be more hero than villain, then don't be surprised if the recently resurrected Superman shows up to warn him that he's keeping an eye on his activities.
