The Flash movie has been through countless writers and directors at this stage, but it is still happening, and currently scheduled for a 2022 release. Over the past few years, it's been reported that the Scarlet Speedster's first big screen solo outing will be everything from an adaptation of Flashpoint to a simple adventure pitting him against either the Rogues or a female Reverse-Flash.

How could Superman factor into that? Well, for as much bad as Joss Whedon did with Justice League, that post-credits scene pitting the Man of Steel against the Fastest Man Alive in a race teased a compelling dynamic, and Superman's presence in The Flash could further explore that.

Of course, if this movie does adapt Flashpoint, then throwing Superman into the midst of that time-travel adventure and exploring his role in a whole new reality could be a lot of fun. The Flash is a great character, but there's no denying that adding DC's most iconic superhero into the mix would massively increase interest in the film, especially after six years of Flash adventures on television.
