The long-awaited Superman reboot, Man of Steel, is released next month and fans of the iconic Kryptonian hero are chomping at the bit to feast their eyes on this new incarnation of their favourite character (portrayed in this instance by British actor Henry Cavill, who will be supported by a stellar ensemble cast that includes Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Michael Shannon). After the forgettable disappointment that was 2006's Superman Returns, starring Brandon Routh as the titular hero, comic book enthusiasts around the world have been waiting in eager anticipation to finally get another Superman movie worthy of the name. Not since the days of Christopher Reeve has there been a Superman movie worth re-watching - and sadly even that franchise got a bit silly by the end (Richard Pryor, anyone?).
