Paul Rudd: Man. Actor. Owner of a weird computer. Not to be confused with the DJ of the same name. The comedian hasn't exactly been short of high-profile roles, having had a recurring part in Friends and remaining a key part of Judd Apatow's revolving roster of actors, but he's about to find himself launched into the stratosphere - he's in a Marvel movie. Despite that, it's Rudd's involvement in the eponymous role of Ant-Man which'll get the punters in spite of that unspectacular title and stories of behind-the-scenes finagling. That's exactly why Marvel cast him as Scott Lang in the first place; Rudd just has something, that indefinable movie star x-factor which makes him effortlessly enigmatic and endearing whatever film you put him in. Well, almost any film. As with anybody who's been working steadily in the industry for twenty years, Rudd's had some duds. That average rises ever higher for comedic actors, with a decent feature length laugh-fest harder to pull off than you think. His highs have been very high, seeing him involved in some of the most successful comedies of his generation! But his lows have been almost as epoch-shakingly low, complete with requisite early appearance in a crappy horror movie.
